Title: Isolated perianal erosive lichen planus; A case presentation
Abstract:
Background: Lichen planus is a well-known skin disease with variable clinical presentations and a characteristic histopathological features. Perianal erosive lichen planus is a very rare clinical variant of lichen planus, only few cases have been reported and sometimes it poses a diagnostic challenge.
Aim: To add another case of this rare variant of lichen planus to shed light on it for early diagnosis and proper management
Materials and Methods: The Clinical and histopathological features of a case of isolated perianal lichen planus in a 79-year-old man will be presented and discussed
Conclusion: Erosive perianal lichen planus must be considered in the differential diagnosis of even isolated perianal erosions and the interpretation of the skin biopsy findings by a dermatopathologist is the key for its diagnosis.
