Nneka I. Comfere, M.D. is a Professor of Dermatology and Laboratory Medicine & Pathology in the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine, Rochester, Minnesota. Her clinical practice includes dermatology and dermatopathology. Dr Comfere currently serves as, Division Chair of Dermatopathology and Cutaneous Immunopathology in the Department of Dermatology and Co-Director of the Mayo Clinic Dermatology Digital Health, Artificial Intelligence and Innovations Program. Dr Comfere earned a B.Sc in Biochemistry from Florida State University and M.D. degree from Mayo Medical School, Mayo Clinic College of Medicine, Rochester Minnesota. She completed residency in Dermatology and fellowship in Dermatopathology at Mayo Clinic Graduate School of Medicine. She received a certificate of completion from the Healthcare Delivery Scholars Program of the Mayo Clinic Robert D. and Patricia E. Kern Center for the Science of Healthcare Delivery. Dr Comfere’s scholarly activities focus on assessing the role of provider-provider communication failures in diagnostic tests, impact of communication failures on diagnostic error and healthcare delivery outcomes in digital health including digital pathology, definition of clinical, histopathologic, molecular attributes and prognostic factors predictive of outcomes in cutaneous lymphoma and the development and assessment of artificial intelligence algorithms for diagnosis and outcome predictions in dermatology and dermatopathology.
