Abstract
Aneurysmal bone cysts (ABC) are benign cystic bone tumors that occur primarily within the first two decades of life in the metaphysis of long bones and the posterior vertebrae. While approximately 70% are primary lesions, they may also form as a reactive phenomenon to an adjacent process, such as a neoplasm . Only approximately 30 cases of ABC presenting in soft tissue have been reported, and only one case of cutaneous ABC has been previously reported. We herein report the second cutaneous ABC, presenting in the leg of a 75-year-old male. Microscopic examination showed the classic histomorphology of a well-circumscribed tumor consisting of woven bone with admixed osteoclasts, bland oval to spindle cells, and abundant hemosiderin deposition.
