Abstract
A 5-year-old girl presented with skin-colored verrucous papules on the right side of her body. The lesions first appeared on the right lower extremity shortly after birth and slowly expanded unilaterally to the trunk and upper extremity in a linear pattern. The patient endorses occasional pruritus unresponsive to topical steroids. Physical examination revealed unilateral hyperkeratotic, erythematous papules coalescing into plaques, following the lines of Blaschko on the right side of the upper, and lower extremity, buttock, chest, and back. The skin biopsy showed acanthotic epidermis with an alternating orthokeratotic and parakeratotic stratum corneum consistent with inflammatory linear verrucous epidermal nevus. A trial course of a combination of 5% topical 5-fluorouracil and 0.1% tretinoin once daily under occlusion was initiated.
