Biography

Alina Bridges, DO is an accomplished, visionary leader in the in field of Dermatology, Dermatopathology, and Immunodermatology where she is triple-boarded with 26 years of experience. She is Director of Dermatopathology at the Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell in NY. She is the Director of Cutaneous Pathology for the Northwell Cancer Center. She was previously Director of Immunodermatology at Dermpath Diagnostics of Cincinnati. She is emeritus Associate Professor of Dermatology as well as Laboratory Medicine and Pathology at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. She is also Emeritus Director of Dermatopathology. She completed her residency in Dermatology at the University of Cincinnati, where she was Chief Resident. Her fellowships include Dermatopathology and Immunodermatology, both in the Department of Dermatology at Mayo Clinic Rochester. She has a great depth of knowledge and experience in the diagnosis and management of challenging inflammatory and neoplastic cases, hospital, and cosmetic dermatology. She has done academic and pharma research in the areas of biochemistry, molecular biology, and test development. She has published extensively. She is a member of the American Dermatological Association, American Medical Association, American Academy of Dermatology, American Society of Dermatopathology, Women's Dermatologic Society, Noah Worcester Dermatological Society, and the International Society of Dermatopathology. She makes leadership, advocacy and health care policy contributions nationally as an editorial member of the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology, Associate Editor of Cutis, as a member of the American Medical Association- Relative Value Scale (RVS) Update Committee (RUC), the MACRA Clinical Subcommittee for the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, chair of the AAD Dermatopathology Committee, Vice Chsir of the Mohs committee, and a member of the FDA and Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation lead team for the development of standard and technical information regarding particulate limits for intravascular medical devices. She is devoted to her family; her husband, Dr. Claude Bridges, who practices Internal Medicine, at Northwell Health in New York and her 3 wonderful children, Hunter,18, a CS major at BU Ariana, 16, who is an accomplished competitive ballerina in NYC, and Bryce, 14, born deaf but a gifted hockey and tennis player. She loves bodybuilding, shopping, fashion, and being a dance and hockey mom.
