Abstract:
In 1984, Dr. Bernard Ackerman and Dr. Anna Ragaz published a book entitled “Lives of Lesions: Chronology in Dermatopathology”. They talked about how most textbooks describe histopathology of diseases as if they were static phenomena rather than dynamic processes. In the book, they narrated evolution of 25 dermatologic entities at different times of these lesions’ lives. I update this very interesting concept through a deep dive of histology - dermoscopy/clinical correlates of lichen planus (LP), lichen planopilaris/frontal fibrosing alopecia (LPP/FFA) and central centrifugal cicatricial alopecia (CCCA) as they change across time.
