Univ of Pennsylvania
I have been a member of the ASDP since 1997 when I began my dermatopathology fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania. After completing my fellowship and postdoctoral training, I became a faculty member in the Department of Dermatology at Penn in 2001 and am now tenured faculty. I am a member of a busy academic dermatopathology practice and run a NIH-funded research laboratory that studies the mechanisms of UV-induced skin cancer and atopic dermatitis. Our group applies a range of experimental approaches including omics technologies to identify biomarkers of skin diseases. I also direct the Cutaneous Transcriptomics and Phenomics Core of the UPenn SBDRC. I have been privileged to participate in ASDP programs including proposing and initiating the “Behind the H+E” series which highlighted scientific advances in dermatopathology which continues today as the Basic Science Program.
