Abstract

Solitary fibrous tumor (SFT) is a fibroblastic tumor characterized by haphazardly arranged spindle to ovoid cells, stag-horn/hemangiopericytomatous vasculature and NAB2-STAT6 gene rearrangement. About 10% arise in the head and neck where the sinonasal tract and orbit are the most common sites. Orbital SFT were described in extraconal and intraconal regions of the orbit followed by eyelid and lacrimal fossa. Conjunctival SFT is extremely rare with only three cases reported in the literature. We report a case of conjunctival SFT in a 12-year-old boy with scattered multinucleated giant cells and review the literature of this uncommon clinical and histological presentation.
